After resawing,
the lumber is dressed. Each board is made flat, then milled to
the required thickness and width using the jointer and planer
machines. At the end of the process each piece will have the
square edges necessary for subsequent shaping. The dressed boards
are stacked on 'stickers' to allow air to flow to all sides of
each board. This maintains an even moisture content throughout
each board to prevent warping. |
